Richard Waterhouse won the Horton Cup, scoring a net 62. After the presentation, a short ceremony was held on the 12th fairway, remembering our dear friend Bernd Hackemesser.
We are pleased to be able to tell you that all 22 greens at the RMGC have been over seeded and dressed. In the coming days the tees, approaches and fairways will be verticut, swept and over seeded with rye grass. It is hoped that these worked will be complete by mid next week.
Rest assured that in future years (unlike this year) the golfing calendar will be drawn up to accommodate the over seeding program, with the course closed all day when the work on the greens is to be carried out.
Just a note to say that this coming week our Green Keeping staff will be carrying out the works necessary to over seed all 22 greens at the RMGC. This will involve a heavy vert-cutting, drop seeding of the Poa Trivialis seed, fertilisation and a medium top dressing with sand.
The process started at 06.00 and will take 3-4 days to complete. A course marshall will be on hand should a specific green need to be taken out of play for a hour or so. We invite you please to offer up your understanding and support for our Green Keeping staff during this period.
