Trolleys in the Locker Room
Elisa Aquilina and I checked some 385 trolleys in the Locker Room on Monday 18th April when the Course was closed for maintenance. We removed 35 trolleys: the majority belonged to those who were no longer members; whilst some were not ‘tagged’. These have been placed on the top shelf next to the Coke machine or on the top shelf in the Store Room at the back of the Locker Room. A few untagged trolleys that had clearly not been used for many months have been placed on the roof of the club house for use as spares.
We tidied up the Locker Room, throwing away a lot of rubbish and putting old shoes and other golfing equipment next to the lost property basket by the Coke machine. Shoes, clothing and golf clubs must be stored in lockers – they must not be left to clutter up the Locker Room. A limited number of small clothes bags can be left on the shelves next to the exit door by the lift – but these must not be left overnight.
Inevitably, some trolleys had to be moved to reduce crowding. Apart from the 35 trolleys mentioned above, no trolleys were moved from above the carousels or from the shelves around the room apart from the top shelf next to the Pro Shop – see below. So I hope you will find your trolley in or near its usual place.
In order to provide temporary storage for some of the trolleys that were removed, we made room on the top shelf next to the Coke machine and chained these trolleys there. This meant that some of your trolleys on the top shelf were moved along that shelf and a few were placed lower down on the middle shelf.
With 385 trolleys to check, we may have missed the odd tag. So if your tagged trolley is missing please ask Christina in the Pro Shop or Elisa in the Office to direct you to where they may be found and retrieved. We apologise in advance for any inconvenience.
If your trolley was not tagged, please retrieve it and get a tag from Elisa in the Office. Then fix the tag to your trolley before replacing it in the Locker Room.
When checking trolleys we identified a number of ‘second’ or even ‘third’ trolleys belonging to members. You will be charged for these by the Office if they were not already registered. Space is at a premium in the Locker Room, so we are considering limiting ‘second’ trolleys to those who keep them as back-up for electric trolleys; and may in future try to deter members from storing more than two trolleys.
Finally, we found 11 trolleys that were chained to the shelf supports. This makes it very difficult to clean the Locker Room. So please uncouple your trolleys – you are free to keep them chained, but not to the supports.
Thank you for your understanding and support for limiting the number of trolleys in the Locker Room, and for keeping the room tidy and uncrowded with all trolleys easily accessible.
