The course has been under some serious amount of stress due to the weather, the green keeping staff have done a great job under the guidance of Trevor to maintain the course in the good shape it is in now, however, it would help if you, the players, replaced divots and repaired pitchmarks. Passing of Veronica Ellul

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our lady member Mrs Veronica Ellul. Veronica was a member of RMGC for 14 years and played weekly social golf.

We would like to take this opportunity to send our heartfelt condolences to her friends and family.

For anyone wishing to pay their respects, her funeral will take place tomorrow at Mellieha Parish Church at 3.30pm.

Veronica will be sadly missed.

Ladies ‘Yoga By Yvonne’ Telford Results

On Thursday morning the ladies played a non qualifying Telford format.
This was sponsored by ‘Yoga by Yvonne’ and Yvonne Van Beek generously sponsored the event, giving all participating ladies a voucher for one free session, in addition to the first and second prize winners.

Four ladies scored 29 points, but beating Lady Captain, Doreen Balzan and Eileen Borg on a countback for runners up prize was Anne Thompson.

Overall winner with 30 points was Mia Allsopp who took 4 clubs and a putter allowing herself an extra 3 shots to her handicap.
Mia won 5 Yoga sessions and Anne Thompson won 3.

Angela Mahoney was the only lady who had a two on the day scooping 12 golf balls.
Anne Thompson who got two birdies last week also received her ball sweep balls.
The ladies enjoyed soup and sandwiches after presentation and the Lady Captain was delighted to announce the appointment of Marianne Schaefer Noll as the new Lady Vice Captain.

Papilio Services Ltd – Captain’s League Round 5 v5

The weather has again played its part, and unfortunately those of you down to play Friday, are not able to, due to the course being closed. We shall see how the course is on Saturday, and hopefully get some golf in!

Refunds have been given to all players down to play Friday.

Name of your Captain added to your score card will be helpful. Last week was made more tedious than necassary by members forgetting! Thank you.

This competition is generously sponsored by ‘Yoga by Yvonne’. Yvonne will present her prizes afterwards and soup and sandwich will be served.

The rules for the Telford are as follows:

Players can chose up to 7 clubs + a putter.
The format is Stableford and you play off full handicap.
For every club less than 7, excluding your putter, you can add one
shot to your handicap.
This competition is non qualifying and there will be a ball sweep.

Sign up now in teams of four for this FUN, MIXED St Patrick’s Day Competition.

The Format is “Irish Four Ball” and it works like this.

Teams of four, choose your own teams, multi-tee start.

Stableford, Full Handicap up to Max Gents 28, Ladies 36.

Par 3’s ALL 4 Balls count

Par 4’s the 3 Highest balls count

Par 5’s the Lowest 2 balls count.

Obviously the team with the best score wins.

Prizes for Winners and Runners Up.

This promises to be yet another  FUN day; after the competition there will be an Irish themed lunch,  with music (and dancing if the fancy takes you)  by “Celtic  Connection.”

Fenston Cup Round 3 Team Results

Practically a full field turned out to play Fenston Cup round 3 on Sunday which was played in pleasant and very mild weather.

Busy Three scooped a well earned 6 points after scoring a total of 176 stableford points from the top 5 scorers in their team.
This was followed by Cassar & Copper who scored 168 points, giving them 5 team points, and close on their tails was Pro’s Foes with 167 points securing them 4 team points.
Lindt Chocolate got 3 team points after their 164 stableford total, which meant Advise and Vileda took a share of the 3 remaining points after their teams each scored 152 stableford points.

Samuel Reeves who is a Busy Three team player was overall best individual scorer with 40 points.
