The Ladies HUAWEI Championship and Moya Hann two day scratch competition took place on Wednesday and Thursday, and once again the ladies were presented with their winning prizes by Mr Chris Briffa who has been sponsoring this competition for 13 years.
Championship
A windy day one, and Mia Allsopp secured herself a 7 shot lead with a gross of 79. Maria Woodward was leading second lady with 86, followed by Maureen Borg with 88.
Mia held a comfortable lead throughout the second day, winning the two day scratch by 11 shots. Her gross on day two was 83, followed by Maria and Maureen who both tied day two with 87. Maria secured second place with an overall score of 173. Mia won with a gross of 162 shots.
The net prize which was also third place overall went to Maureen Borg.
Moya Hann
Beverley Hall lead the ladies after day one with 98, but close behind her with 99 was Anne Hillman.
Anne managed an incredible 88 shots on day two. This not only secured her the winning of the shield, it also gave her a huge handicap reduction.
Beverley settled for 2nd place after her 103 on day two.
First place ladies gross overall was 187 followed by Beverley with an overall gross of 201.
The net prize went to Geraldine Cranley.
Eileen Borg was the only lady to secure a two over the two days.
The winners took home generous prizes of Tablets and Mobile Phones presented by Chris along with the winning trophies to the leading ladies. All players received discount vouchers for Intercomp, and both Chris and his wife Sarah stayed and enjoyed lunch after the awards presentation.
Anne Hillman who is leaving us in the coming months provided Prosecco during the lunch.

We send our congratulations to Anne Hillman on her win and her successful season and also to Mia who is our new Lady Club Champion. She is also the youngest and the first Lady Champion to have graduated from our Junior Academy.
