Dear Ladies & Gentlemen,

Reminding you that on the 9th June it will be the Fenston’s sixth and final Round.  There are still a few places left so if you have not signed up, there is still time to do so.  Let us make this Fenston final round great.

There will be Lunch for €15.50 per head – The Menu and sign up sheet will go up on the Notice Board for you to enter your name/s.  This will help Saffron with numbers.  If you have any dietary requirements, please liaise directly with Silvio, Chris or any member of Saffron.

IIG Club Championship (Men) – Start Sheet Day One v3

Club Championship Start Sheet v3

A big thank you for IIG for sponsoring the season’s ultimate competition. This epic three-day aggregate medal is foremost a scratch competition and the club’s most prestigious trophy. It is worth triple Order of Merit points. After day one the cut is the top 27 plus ties. After day two the cut is top 20 plus ties.

The secondary competition, the Centenary Plate, is still an aggregate medal but handicaps apply. Player’s who qualify for the scratch competition may not elect to opt out of the scratch to enter the plate.

Last year we saw a dramatic playoff for the eventual title as Club Champion!

Please find the start sheet below:

Reminder: you must sign up for day 2 and day 3 on HDiD or the PSI in order to play.

Men’s Club Championship sponsored by IIG – sign up notice

Club Championship / Centenary Plate – must sign up for each day

Please note this year participants must sign up to each day that they intend to play in the Club Championship / Centenary Plate, it will not be assumed that if you sign up for Day 1 you are automatically signed up to all three days.
Obviously, you cannot play day 2 without having played day 1 and cannot play day 3 without having played day 2.

This puts the accountability back on the player to notify the competition committee via the technology provided that they are playing. Players must “positively sign up” rather than “negatively opt out” as this reduces mistakes and disappointment.

This method is fairer as:

  • the committee will be busy organising the event rather than entering players into days two and three manually
  • avoids the human error of failing to read scorecards at all or correctly and therefore set up the start-sheet wrong leaving players out, out of turn, or a three-ball short of a player
  • players are accountable for committing to the competition and failure to show up cannot be defended with “I wrote it on the card”

Any questions or queries to [email protected] or 79225069 (but please do not ask me to repeat the above).
