This Competition is now live and you can book your name using HowDidIDo, the PSI or if you have the ClubV1 Members App. There are 2 Zones. Zone 1 is for the Silver Division and Zone 2 is for the Bronze Division. If you have any difficulties, please do not hesitate to contact any of the committee members.

  • The format for this competition is stroke play medal and is played over 2 days. (First Day is the 12th March and the Second Day is the 26th March)
  • It is played in two divisions, Division 1 and Division 2.      
  • The draw is matched on Day 1. By score order on Day 2
  •  Prizes will be awarded to the overall winners in each Division on completion of Day 2
  • Prizes are awarded to the winner and runner-up in each Division on both days
  • Only one Prize shall be awarded to any one person
  • Double Order of merit points awarded on day 2 to each division on aggregate score
  • Eclectic

Dear Members

Please see Government press release below, I urge you to take the necessary precautions as per below. In light of precautionary measures and advisory issued via government and the education department, the club has decided to cancel this Sunday’s Junior Coaching. We will of course advise future measures as the situation develops.


The outbreak of COVID-19 has now spread to various countries. At this point, there are no COVID-19 cases in Malta. In view of the current situation, the Health Authorities are expanding their surveillance to cover a wider area of travel to affected areas.
People who have fever, cough or shortness of breath within 14 days of visiting the following countries:

  1. China
  2. Hong Kong
  3. Singapore
  4. Japan
  5. Iran
  6. South Korea
  7. Northern part of Italy – Lombardy, Piedmont, Veneto and Emilia-Romagna
    should contact their family doctor and the Health Authorities on 2132 4086. They are advised to refrain from visiting health centres or the casualty department in the first instance.
    The Health Authorities are also advising people to avoid nonessential travel to the listed affected areas. People returning from these areas are being asked to self-quarantine for 14 days.
    The general public are reminded to take the necessary precautions for prevention of respiratory infections:
    Clean: Clean hands often by washing with soap and water or using alcohol hand rub.
    Contain: Contain germs by staying at home if unwell; do not go to work or school until one is better. Do not visit patients in hospital if you are sick.
    Cover: Use a tissue to cover your mouth and nose when you cough and sneeze into bare hands. Bin used tissues immediately. Do not leave tissues running around.
    Do not sneeze or cough into your hands as you may contaminate objects or people that you touch.

Joe Tabone

We are saddened to here of the passing of Joe Tabone; a 25 year member of the RMGC. Joe was a regular at the club in the good old days and was both Club Champion, in the club’s centenary year (1988), and Course Record holder in his day. Joe stopped playing a few years ago due to age and his inability to compete. Funeral details will be publish once know.

Ladies Debenhams Yellow Ball Results

The ladies teamed up to play a fun yellow ball non-qualifier today. The winning team, Maria Woodward, Eileen Borg and Filippa Schulz-Doering won on countback with a score of 107. Runner-up team, Michelle Allsopp, Georgina Turkington and Gun Edlund.

The only two of the day Eileen Borg on the 5th.

Thank you to Natasha and Mimi from MAC make up who brought a selection of make up for the ladies to try.

Yellow Ball – Thursday 27th February 2020 v2


• Each team collects one numbered yellow ball from Reception
• Yellow Ball to be returned with the Team card
• Out of Bounds: should the yellow ball go OOB at any point it is no longer in play for any remaining holes.
• Each player uses the yellow ball in strict rotation.
• Score double stableford points with the yellow ball
• Two best stableford to count each hole
• One card per team. Please mark scores clearly and circle the yellow ball player on each hole.

Winter Rules/Preferred Lies

With immediate effect the Temporary Local Rule regarding Winter Rules/Preferred Lies is lifted. Play the ball as it lies.
