The R&A trophy was made in 1988 by Francis Howard Ltd in Edinburgh and presented to the RMGC by the Royal & Ancient Golf Club of St. Andrews to commemorate the 1988 centenary of the founding of the RMGC.
The competition is a knockout match-play event. This year 54 participants entered.
Herbert Froehlich defeated Jack Lutman in the 18 hole final. Herbert wins 25 OOM points for his victory, Jack receives 10 points. Defeated semi-finalists Kenneth Micallef and Noah Gratil each receive 5 points.
The Creasy Cup was made in London by C&S Co. Ltd. in 1950 and presented to RMGC by Sir Gerald Creasy KCMG KCVD OBE who was Governor of Malta from 1949-1954.
63 participants entered the competition which was preceded by a black tie dinner at the Hilton where all the players were auctioned off. The competition is a drawn knock out matchplay played off full handicap.
Niki Laferla defeated Ivan Faure in the Creasy Cup Final played on Tuesday 25th April. The final played over 36 holes was refereed by Dennis Balztis.
Niki earned 25 Order of Merit points for his victory with Ivan getting 10 points as runner-up. Defeated semi-finalists, Neill Simpson and Herbert Froehlich each received five points.
The payout to the winning ticket holders will be done ASAP.
