Pro shop announcement | The (ONE STOP) RMGC Shop

With the operator’s long-term lease of the shop expiring in early June 2022, the RMGC is taking the opportunity to bring the outlet back in-house, creating a one stop shop for its members and visitors.

The shop will be closed for a couple of weeks for renovation and some logistical changes but when it reopens it will become the single point of reference for bookings, rentals and of course your golfing related needs/purchases. What is today the club’s reception will be repurposed to offer space and the club’s offices will receive an overall facelift and upgrade. In the interim, we will be selling golf consumables from reception as normal.

From a retail perspective, the club has invested on the golf shop module of our existing Club V1 system in order that members may use their wallets and cards to rent or purchase goods.

The shop will offer a broader range of golfing equipment whilst leaving club fitting and repairs to Henning down at the range – where we have built a swing studio for him to operate from.

As the refit and re-stock progresses, we will be writing to you again to give further details in respect of the products and incentives we will be offering.

RMGC Presentation Night

Ruud Critien retains the RMGC Championship

After winning the title last year, Ruud Critien has re-confirmed himself as the RMGC champion for a fourth time in an impressive manner shooting a five-under par 63 on the final day to beat his local rivals JJ Micallef and Andy Borg by three strokes and by five strokes respectively.

Ruud had a slow start on Friday shooting 71 on day1, six more than leader Andy Borg (65) and lie in 6th place behind Andy, Jay Jay (67), Andrew Featherstone (68), Oliver Stuart (68) and Nicholas Beck (71).

Matters improved for Ruud on day2 Saturday, where he played one-under 67, followed by Tore Lindtveit with a 68, and Alexander Hillblom with 69. Jay Jay and Andrew Featherstone both shot 70, and Brian James and Tomas Bergendal had 71. Andy Borg lost some ground with his four-over 72, but he was still good enough to go into the final day3 as joint leader with Jay Jay, both on 137. Ruud lay third, one stroke behind.

On day3 Ruud sprinted into the lead on the front9 with three birdies and six pars. Jay Jay and Andy couldn’t keep up with Ruud’s pace and never really threatened on the back9. By the 17th Ruud had an advantage of 5 strokes over his rivals and was able to afford a dropped shot on the final hole to clinch his fourth title after 2015, 2018 and 2021. Jay Jay was runner-up with a gross 204, and Andy took third place with a gross 206.

Worthy to report that Master Noah Gratil ended the season in first place of the prestigious Order of Merit, ahead of Master Aleksandr Vagimov in second place.
