The Malta Ladies Team place 5th at the 2024 European Team Shield Championship in Liechtenstein.
Having lost their quarter final to Bulgaria on Thursday, the Ladies Team best possible finish in this Championship could only be fifth which they duly achieved. They triumphed over Ukraine on Friday and this morning against Hungary.
Elliana and Laya led the team as the foursomes pair. Serena and then Filippa followed in the singles matches.
Elliana and Laya won their foursomes match 4&3.
Serena won her match 5&4.
Filippa was losing her match however with the tie already decided and in the good spirit of the game, her Hungarian opponent shook hands for a halved match.

The Malta Men’s Team place 6th at the 2024 European Team Shield Championship in Liechtenstein.
Having lost their quarter final match to Andorra on Thursday, the Men’s Team best possible finish could only be fifth place. The team triumphed over Serbia on Friday and lost out to Albania this morning.
Laurens and Trent led the team as the foursomes pair. Andy and Oliver followed in the singles matches.
Laurens and Trent lost their foursomes match 4&3.
Andy won his match 5&4 whilst Oliver lost his singles match 6&5.
