Thank you firstly to the Lady Captain, her team and section for attending a full club house Saturday, all the many Past Captains that attended (many not playing) and my team, led by the VC and the Comps Team for their work over this week.
It was great to greet the large team from WMI, led by member Tony Mahoney and the also DHC Tristian Gilchrist.
Final thanks to Penderyn via Farsons for their significant contribution. I think it turned into something more than a Whiskey Tasting (🥴) but it was good to showcase one of the best Welsh exports in the World.
My sincere thanks to my wife for her efforts.
Golf – we handed over a bottle of whiskey to the top 6 in the Clubhouse and the top 3 will also receive cash prizes.
Bryan Peterkin, Oleksyi Dubinin, Kurt Cachia and Ingo Sausmekat took those honours.
At the business end, a 3 way tie. All 40 points.
Toni (Takomo) Westerholm took 3rd, losing on countback to Adam Sanders who is making 2nd place all his own, every week !!!
But again, the last card of the day. Franco De Gabriele – winning on countback and lifting the 25 OOM.
For me, the day was a celebration of the work that Captains do for the club and is dedicated to those than take on the role. I hope it becomes a permanent feature in the fixture list.
