At the Royal Malta Golf Club, our Junior Academy is more than just a training program—it’s a vibrant, supportive community where young players of all levels can grow, compete, and develop a lifelong love for the game of golf.

Our Mission

We are committed to developing confident, skilled, and respectful young golfers through expert coaching, structured learning pathways, and a positive, encouraging environment that supports both personal and athletic growth.

Who Can Join?

Our Academy welcomes boys and girls aged 4 to 18. We support complete beginners as well as more advanced juniors, with personalised coaching and competition opportunities tailored to each age and skill level.

Our Groups

We group players by age and ability to ensure the right balance of challenge and support:

 

  • Tiger (Ages 4–6) – Our youngest golfers are introduced to the game through fun, movement-based activities and early skills in a playful, safe setting.
  • Par (from 6 up) – Early learners focusing on golf fundamentals, etiquette, and enjoyment of the game.
  • Birdie B & A  – Intermediate players building confidence and consistency, with their first competitive experiences.
  • Eagles – Advanced junior golfers playing 9 to 18 holes depending on handicap. Eagles bridge the gap between intermediate play and full-course competition.
  • Falcons (HDC 28 and lower) – Our most experienced juniors, up to 18 years old, who regularly compete in club events, often alongside adult members. Falcons represent the Academy at the highest junior level.

We support a smooth progression between groups by gradually increasing course distance, technical expectations, and competition intensity—while always fostering a fun and inclusive environment.

Community & Parental Involvement

Parents are key partners in the success of our Academy. Many take an active role in supporting competitions, managing logistics, and helping us create a warm, organised atmosphere. We welcome all families to get involved.

To help the Academy grow—including developing international exchange opportunities, upgrading training resources, and building our reputation—we actively seek sponsorship and support. Every contribution enhances the experience and development of our junior players.

Registration

Registration for the 2026/2027 season will give priority to returning participants, their siblings, referred friends and children of RMGC members and partners. Available spaces for new applicants will be published on 16 August 2026. All new applications will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis, subject to availability.
