The first major of the year for the Ladies, the Handicap Cup has officially wrapped up, marking another memorable chapter in this year’s competition. Challenging weather conditions tested every player on the course, but the field rose to the occasion with resilience, good humour and unwavering determination. Despite the elements, the standard of golf remained impressively high.
There were some outstanding individual moments across the course. Carolina Romero delivered a spectacular “2” on the 5th hole — an achievement that anyone who played will know was no small feat in those conditions. Not to be outdone, Catherine Millet also produced a superb “2” on the 16th. An amazing accomplishment and a highlight of the day.

Following the golf, players and guests enjoyed a delicious lunch, joined by the club’s supportive management team, Martin and Joe. The event was generously supported by sponsors Giti and the team from Roland Marina, with Sebastian Darmani and Sofia Bassotti in attendance. Sebastian kindly presented the prizes alongside the Club Captain, adding a fitting ceremonial close to the competition. Photos from the day will follow shortly.
To round off the occasion, members were treated to a chocolate cake baked by Marianne Schaefer Noll — a creation so delicious it prompted many to suggest she may have missed her true calling. A heartfelt thank you goes to Marianne for the perfect sweet finish to a fantastic day.
