A key objective for this years committee is full clubhouses for presentations. For that we have adjusted tee times and compressed the field.
There was nothing better to witness than this on Sunday for the MGA Shield, played over 3 days – a full clubhouse was there to see the winners.
Some inclement weather on Friday gave way to perfect conditions on the weekend but the new course is showing its teeth.
The highlights;
– An ace, his 3rd, from Nigel Hall on the 7th on Friday – if you were in the bar on Friday then cheers.
– Only two players under par on Friday and Saturday Danjiel Bogdanovic and Bryan Peterkin.
– On Sunday, Tony Kjaldstrom with 40 points was the best of the day, and secured overall second place in the Men’s (72).
– Only two other players to break handicap today – Stephen Knights (unhappy with his handicap all week – thankfully his pleadings were ignored) and form player Zachary Pisani.
Too many overall prizes to mention but Zach took 3rd place overall.
For the Ladies, Karen Black took 3rd (60), 4 behind Laine Tutane who took second, losing the shield on countback.
The winners – Maria Woodward (64) and Danjiel Bogdanovic (73), Danjiel also collects 25 OOM points and remains the form player in the Men’s section.
15 players collected twos (including the one!).
As outlined by the President of the MGA, this was a record turnout, with proceeds going to the Association to fund their ongoing projects, and there is no better cause.
