Firstly a word for Angelo and Fabio from Interni Italia who attended the presentation, their support this year has been nothing short of fantastic and I was grateful for a full club house to greet them.
In the Kinnaird, Sam Azzorpardi took 3rd after posting the magic 59 on Day 2 edging out Ivan Faure, Steve Paterson and Mark Askew on countback.
The serial bridesmaid did it again. Second place has been seemingly all his own placing this season and he didn’t disappoint. Peter Naudi. A hatful of OOM points though and a nudge to the MVR selectors.
Lifting the Kinnaird trophy, after a quiet spell, was Frederik Johansson. Rounds of 66 and 64. Edging out Peter by 2. He also took 25 OOM points, locking his place down in the Rest team.
Consolation, prizes for Ivan and Pavel Lunev.
At the business end, the competition was dominated by the regulars and the ding dong between this elite Group seems set to continue into the seasons finale.
Ruud Critien and JJ took consolation prizes but a welcome return to form for Aleks Vagimov saw him take overall 3rd and lift him substantially in the OOM (141).
It was inevitably between the Club Champion and the defending Scratch Challenge champion.
The honours were largely decided on the 14th with a 4 shot swing to Andy giving him some breathing space down the last 4.
Noah GRATIL had to settle for second with a score of 140, 4 behind the winning score of 136 and the 2025 Scratch Challenge winner, Andy Borg. He remains the man to beat. Andy also collects 50 OOM points.
Matthew Mangion took the nearest to the hole on the 7th. A pin that we all struggled to find.
