The Blue Whale Restaurant in St. Paul’s Bay was the venue chosen on Wed. 13th Dec. for an RMGC’s Girls night out. The proprietor Kun Zhao (Sonia) being a golfer herself went to great lengths to ensure that our group of 20 ladies were given V.I.P. service throughout the evening.Everything from the table setting with the finest bone china together with traditional Chinese floral decor made for a magical festive atmosphere with a sophisticated touch. On arrival we were welcomed by Sonia & staff who served us wonderful cocktails while we mixed  & mingled before being seated for dinner. Our starter dish of Aromatic duck 🦆 was soon later followed by Black Bean Beef, Sweet & Sour Pork, Chicken with cashew nuts & Shrimps in garlic sauce, egg fried rice & vegetable noodles, all washed down with copious amounts of wine & water.  It was clear that all dishes served had been cooked with great passion by Sonia’s chef & served with attention to detail by her dedicated team.Sonia, whose beautiful singing voice has entertained us on numerous occasions then sang two familiar songs which we all enjoyed. The party atmosphere was set by all present who sang a song relating to lady golfers on the course to the melody of Jingle Bells prepared by Eileen. During a brief interlude later a humorous poem was also recited by her which can only be described as gas! It was hard to keep our organizers Teresa & Stef seated once Abba music started playing and a number of other ladies with dancing feet (no names mentioned) couldn’t resist the urge to take to the floor & entertain us with some groovy moves.Sonia’s professionalism together with her dedicated staff can only guarantee what is truly an authentic Chinese culinary experience not to be rivaled anywhere on this island. We are very fortunate to have The Blue Whale as one of our RMGC Privilege Members which allows all golfers a 15% discount when eating at the restaurant.A huge Thank You to The Blue Whale for a wonderful evening to be remembered by all.
